Centers of Excellence

  • Center for Digital Technology and Management
    The Center for Digital Technology and Management (CDTM), a joint institution of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (LMU) and the Technische Universität München (TUM), offers talented students the international and interdisciplinary study program Technology Management. In close cooperation with industry, research and education at CDTM focus on how to manage High-Tech, while CDTM is simultaneously committed to preparing the students for future leadership positions in their professional career.   • LMU Entrepreneurship Center
    LMU-EC is an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented center for education and research in entrepreneurship. Financially supported by a non-profit association, LMU-EC integrates and strengthens the activities of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in the field of entrepreneurship. The ODEON is open to students and academic personnel of all faculties as well as other members of the LMU.
  • Center for Internet Research and Media Integration
    The Center for Internet Research and Media Integration (CIM) is a joint initiative of the disciplines business studies, communication studies and computer science. The objective is the support of interdisciplinary research and teaching at the LMU Munich for the use of digital media in public and private communication.
  • Center for Organisational Research
    The Center for Organisational Research aims at the promotion of research in organisation studies with predominantly socio-scientific approach. It explicitly emphasises the pluralism of relevant theoretical approaches. Apart from its own research projects, the Center for Organisation Research provides a platform for organisation theorists interested in basic research. Additionally, it offers courses on business administration.
  • LMU Center for Advanced Management Studies
    The LMU Center for Advanced Management Studies (LMU CAMS) is a Center of Excellence at the Munich School of Management at Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) in Munich. LMU CAMS invites visiting professors and scholars to pursue their research in Munich and to teach in the faculty's doctoral programme. The main objective of the LMU CAMS is to promote interaction between LMU faculty members and internationally renowned researchers from abroad.
  • Economics & Business Data Center
    The Economics & Business Data Center (EBDC) is a cooperation of the LMU and the ifo Institute of Economic Research. It´s primary objective is to supply an innovative firm dataset that connects the panel of the ifo Institute to balance sheet and structural data from databases like Amadeus or Hoppenstedt. Furthermore, the EBDC provides internal (ifo) and external micro- and macro data as well as access to databases like Amadeus, Hoppenstedt, Datastream, Bankscope, etc.
  • Munich Risk and Insurance Center
    The Munich Risk and Insurance Center (MRIC) was founded in February 2010 to support research and teaching activities in the field of risk management and insurance. The center will serve as an umbrella over several insurance scientists working in Munich with well established networks all over the world. The MRIC aims to bundle these competences and make Munich globally visible as an important insurance research and teaching location and provide infrastructure for an active exchange between theory and practice. The MRIC is part of the Munich School of Management but seeks to be interdisciplinary in its activities.

In addition, there is a co-operation with the Munich Center of Health Sciences (MC-Health).
